1. Trail Mix - Opening of Kayak Pittsburgh
The days of summer are fast approaching and
so is the opening of one of the staples of the season: Kayak Pittsburgh
Downtown and North.
Both locations open on May 5th for weekends only.
Then on Memorial Day, both locations will be open 7 days a week until
September 30th, when they will go back to weekends only through October.
NEW boats, lifejackets and paddles at KP Downtown
Come see our new fleet and skim the water in style with
our new PFD's and paddles!
New KP staff...
We welcome Deb Alley, Manager of Kayak Pittsburgh Downtown, and John
Curtioff, Manager of Kayak Pittsburgh North to the VO staff. They
will ensure that you receive the best experience possible on the water.

It's Wildflower Weekend!
Saturday, April 28
Trillium Trail Wildflower Walk
Trillium and many other wildflowers are in full swing along the
Trillium Trail, so come learn tips & techniques on identifying
these lovelies. This trail walk covers about one mile and should last
about 90 minutes. Come celebrate spring's arrival!

The ephemerals are coming into bloom, revealing their brief, intense
beauty before the trees shade them from above. So come and see all that

Micro - Brewery Bike
Starting with a short bike through Frick Park, we'll head over to
Pittsburghâs own, East End Brewing Company. Owner Scott Smith
will be on hand to share the intricacies of craft brewing, a private
tour of the brewery, and a tasting of his latest brews. As a special
bonus of this outing, you take home a half gallon ãGrowlerä
of fresh beer straight from the source! Minimum Age 21.

Leader Social - Thanks
The Trip Leader Social this past Friday, April 20th
was well-received by all who attended. About 50 people showed up,
with 9 being new to the VO crew. Thanks to the Trip Leader
