Announcements1. Trail Mix - Venture Indoors?
We make it easy to get inside?
The new
Venture Indoors series is a group of
trips
that feature some of the great community, cultural and
historical resources in and around Pittsburgh. Usually
there is a hike of the surrounding neighborhood, then we take it
indoors for a tour or a cultural experience such as a theatre
performance. These unique, low-impact trips are perfect
for experiencing new places in city with the entire
family!
Check out what we have scheduled for the rest of the summer:
Kelly-Strayhorn Theatre Stroll
We'll have a short hike of Highland Park, passing by Sprout
Fund's public art murals and learning more about East Liberty.
We'll end at the Kelly-Strayhorn Theater with a tour and special
presentation about the area's rich history.
Saturday, June 9 -
3:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Kelly-Strayhorn Theater / East Liberty
$10.00 member, $20.00 non-member
Historic Homestead and Home-Style Cooking
Join us on a 3-mile hike around the historic sites of Homestead,
visiting the riverfront area formerly occupied by U.S. Steel's
Homestead Works, featuring the Carrie Furnace and Pump House,
and the site of the famous 1892 Battle of Homestead Strike.
We'll wrap up the day with a warm home-cooked meal at one of the
oldest and most active ethnic organizations in Western
Pennsylvania.
Saturday, June 30 -
1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Bulgarian Macedonian National Educational and Cultural Center
$25.00 member, $40.00 non-member
Take a Walk on the Theatre Side
We will start out with a historical urban walk of the North
Shore. Our final destination will be the CLO Cabaret for a
matinee show of Always...Patsy Cline. After the show we
will have an exclusive "Cast Talk Back Session" where you will
have the opportunity to meet the cast and ask them questions.
Saturday, August 4 - 11:00 AM - 4:30 PM
CLO Cabaret Theater
$35.00 member, $45.00 non-member
