After biking 11 miles on the Great
Allegheny Passage under a canopy of vibrantly colored fall
foliage, we will arrive in Confluence, a charming valley village

explore the town and do some sightseeing before returning to
Pittsburgh.

for runners and their families before, during and after the
race.

University Week at
Kayak Pittsburgh
College students will be able to kayak for free at both
locations of Kayak Pittsburgh from September 24 through the end
of October during regular hours.
Additionally, to celebrate University Week (September 24 - 28),
students will receive a free T-shirt with valid student ID when
arriving at either
Kayak Pittsburgh location. T-shirts will be
handed out to students, regardless of whether or not they
partake in kayaking. University week is offered as part of
Pittsburgh Connections, a project sponsored by Venture Outdoors
and Richard King Mellon Foundation.

IMBA and Pennsylvania advocates urge mountain bikers to ask for
stronger programs to support shared-use trails. The BOF has
traditionally welcomed mountain biking on its trails, but
several small improvements could result in greatly increased
riding and stewardship opportunities.

Ohiopyle for the season. River guides, bike mechanics, store
staff, restaurant staff all are needed. Bike to work, or bike
the trails on your day off.

draws to a close
Mark Shaffer (aka: Uncle Buck) had to cut his thru
hike of the Appalachian Trail short due to family and work
issues. He journeyed a total of 857 miles to raise funds
for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in memory of his nephew
Eric.
