Announcing the Banff Feature Films

Join us at the Banff Mountain Film Festival in Pittsburgh — for adventure, for excitement, for the inspiration of mountain culture. Experience the exhilarating beauty of mountain landscapes. Meet the world’s top adventurers. Listen to their stories. Relive their challenges. Reconnect with adventure.

This year's two-night Festival brings the spirit of adventure to life on the screen through stories including mountain biking, climbing, paddling, mountaineering and more.

Venture Outdoors announces this year’s Feature Films:

Friday Night - April 4th - Searching for the Coast Wolves
Website: www.zdf.de
Gudrun Pflueger is an ex-world champion cross-country skier and long-distance runner. For the last six years, she has been studying wolves in the wilds of Canada. She goes in search of the mysterious coast wolves of British Columbia, a quest that culminates with a dramatic and powerful encounter.

Saturday Night - April 5th - 24 Solo
Website: www.grippedfilms.com
24 Solo follows the gut-wrenching story of Chris Eatough on his quest for a seventh world title in the unforgiving discipline of 24-hour solo mountain-bike racing.

VO Activity Spotlight

Wednesday, February 6th
Urban Fitness Hikes: Mount Washington & Beyond
This fast-paced South Hills hike has it all - steep streets, long stairways, high bridges, tunnels, trains, panoramic views, and more! From the South Side, our 6-mile scramble will jump up and over Mt. Washington, then through the steep hills and valleys of the southern neighborhoods, returning via trolley.
Location: Southside
Time: 5:45 PM - 8:30 PM
Cost: $5.00 member, $10.00 non-member
Saturday, February 16th
Advanced Snowshoeing
Take your snowshoeing experience to the next level. We'll still enjoy winter's beauty, but at a quickened pace and increased distance.
Location: Roaring Run
Time: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Cost: $20.00 member, $35.00 non-member
Saturday, February 17th
Whiskey Tasting Hike
Explore the highlands of Mount Lebanon on a hike through little known Bird Park. We will take a frosty walk for one hour, returning to a leader’s house for a sampling of whiskey to warm our hearts. A better evening cannot be found on this side of the Atlantic. To help us conjure the images of the Highlands, this event will feature the bagpipe player.
Location: Bird Park, South Hills
Time: 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Cost: $30.00 member, $50.00 non-member
