On Tuesday, October 4 The Pittsburgh Foundation is hosting it's 2011 Day of Giving. On this day all donations made through the www.PittsburghGives.org website will be matched by a portion of The Pittsburgh Foundation's $600,000 matching pool.
Since 2011 marks Venture Outdoors' tenth anniversary and we're asking you to help jump start our next ten years by donating on Tuesday, October 4.
We've decided to earmark all Day of Giving donations for our Endowment Fund, which we established this year as a reminder of how far we've come and how far we could go in the next ten years.
What might Venture Outdoors look like ten years from now? How might our programs touch even more people or make an even greater impact?
Give it some thought, and then consider giving to Venture Outdoors on Tuesday, October 4.
Your gifts, passion, and enthusiasm over the past ten years have transformed our region and our organization. We look forward to serving you in the next ten years and thank you for your continued support!

About the Endowment Fund:
What is an Endowment?
An endowment is money set aside to support an organization into perpetuity. This means a gift into the endowment is held for the long term mission of Venture Outdoors. Gifts can be in cash, stocks, bonds, bequests in wills, charitable trusts, gift annuities, life insurance and the transfer of property.
Why are we doing this?
Our loyal membership has grown to 8,000+ (hopefully 10,000 this year) and we are grateful for the individual, corporate and community support. We are looking forward to the continued support and the future growth through this endowment. It will ensure that Venture Outdoors will be around providing great outdoor activities for many years to come.
