2009 has been a pivotal year for the Pittsburgh region, where the world took note of our revitalized natural amenities and 21st century industries alike. 

Venture Outdoors Membership hit a new high of 6,500 individuals, Youth Programs expanded to nearly 4,000 children and adolescents, and we launched the Family & Community Programs Initiative to reach more families while growing and diversifying the outdoors community.

Venture Outdoors continues to provide year-round programming at local and regional trails, parks, and waterways. In serving nearly 30,000 people this year, over 5,700 hours were logged by our outstanding volunteers whose passion for helping others to experience the outdoors is unsurpassed.

Looking forward to 2010, Venture Outdoors will be taking an active role from Earth Day, April 22, to June 5, when Pittsburgh serves as the North American host city for World Environment Day.
