22 in ’22 Guided Trail Ride: Presque Isle
May 28 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm$10.00 – $150.00
22 in ‘22 Guided Trail Rides
There are approximately 22 scenic, car-free, bike paths in the region. Let’s explore them all together! Bike every trail and fill out your passport along the way. Each trail is less than a 2-hour drive from Pittsburgh and we’ll bike between 10 – 24 miles. Best of all, each ride includes a discussion of the landscape and history by Earth Science Excursions, LLC geologist Fred Zelt.
Want to explore further? Check out the Wilds Weekends, where we’ll bike into the Pennsylvania Wilds.
Trip #8: Presque Isle on the Karl Boyes Multi-Purpose National Recreation Trail
Cycle a 17-mile loop on the bike path in Presque Isle State Park! We will pedal beside the calm water of Presque Isle Bay, stop at the Perry Memorial, view scenic Presque Isle Lighthouse, and relax on a sandy lakeshore beach.
Bring a snack for a picnic! Pets in carriers and e-bikes are welcome. In places the bike path is a bike lane on the side of the road, so this excursion is not ideal for kids to cycle.
Bicycle helmets are required. The week before the excursion we will send those who have registered an email with more information about the path we will be cycling, what to bring and exactly when and where to meet at the start. If you want to rent a bike, we can recommend a bike rental and help transport up to three bikes. This trip is offered in partnership with Earth Science Excursions, LLC.
Sign up for the Passport Program and receive a 22 in ’22 Passport as a keepsake and reminder of our region’s great bike paths!
Passports are $150 and get you admission to all of the 22 in ’22 Guided Rides and Wilds Weekend (25 total rides). Passports could save you $100. Once you purchase a passport, you’ll receive a coupon code and instructions on how to register for all of the other adventures to come.
