22 in ‘22 Guided Trail Rides

There are approximately 22 scenic, car-free, bike paths in the region. Let’s explore them all together!  Bike every trail and fill out your passport along the way. Each trail is less than a 2-hour drive from Pittsburgh and we’ll bike between 10 – 24 miles.  Best of all, each ride includes a discussion of the landscape and history by Earth Science Excursions, LLC geologist Fred Zelt.

Trip #9: Rail 66 Country Trail in Clarion County PA

Explore the Rail 66 Country Trail in northern Clarion County!  We will pedal a total of 20 miles, out and back on a smooth, newly-paved asphalt segment of this rail trail.  The trail parallels and in places crosses busy PA Route 66, so this is not an ideal excursion for young kids to cycle.  Pets in carriers and e-bikes are welcome.  If you want to pedal farther than the group at the turnaround or do a shorter trip by heading back before the group turnaround, this trip is designed to accommodate you! 

Bicycle helmets are required.  The week before the excursion we will send those who have registered an email with more information about the path we will be cycling, what to bring and exactly when and where to meet at the start.  If you want to rent a bike, we can recommend a bike rental and help transport up to three bikes.  This trip is offered in partnership with Earth Science Excursions, LLC.
