BARK IN THE PARK HIKE: Unleash the Fun!
Join us for an exhilarating social hike through the picturesque Roaring Run Natural Area in Forbes State Forest, led by our dedicated volunteer Trip Leader, Eric Steinbring. This event is designed for you and your canine companion to experience the great outdoors together. Don’t worry if you don’t have a dog; dog-loving hikers are more than welcome to join us too!
Our adventure will kick off with an opportunity for our four-legged friends to mingle and make new acquaintances. Once our furry pals have had their share of socializing, we’ll embark on a 4.7-mile hike through diverse terrain. Be prepared for some moderate challenges, as some trails may feature steep and rocky sections. We’ll maintain a steady pace throughout the hike, ensuring an enjoyable experience for all participants.
As we explore the wilderness, it’s essential to keep hydration in mind. Please bring an ample supply of water for both yourself and your furry companion, as there may not be water sources along the trail. We’ve also set aside some off-leash time for the dogs to stretch their legs and revel in the freedom of nature.
Our meeting point is the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail parking area, located off Fire Tower Road. Please note that there are no restroom facilities available during the outing, so plan accordingly.
Come and join us for a fantastic day of bonding with nature and fellow dog lovers. Lace up your hiking boots, leash up your pup, and let’s embark on a tail-wagging adventure together!
Note: All participants without canine companions are encouraged to attend and share in the joy of this outdoor exploration.
