Opening Weekend at Kayak Pittsburgh

We would like to send special thanks to all of our amazing customers who came down to celebrate opening weekend at the North Shore.
Opening weekend is always an exciting time for us down at Kayak Pittsburgh. After spending our winter months preparing for the summer, cleaning out the locations, and cleaning your favorite yellow boats, we are finally able to do what we love most – send you out to enjoy the water!
There was no better way to kick off the 2015 season than with the warm weather and river conditions we enjoyed. Both Saturday and Sunday gave us clear skies and beautiful temperatures in the mid 70’s. We were able to send about 350 kayakers onto the water, filling the Allegheny with yellow boats.
An awesome new feature we are offering at our North Shore and North Park locations this year is lock rentals for our lockers. In past years, our customers were always asking if we had locks available, and now we can finally offer those to you! For just $1 an hour, you can rent a lock to put on our lockers to help ensure your belongings stay safe and dry while you are out enjoying the water or enjoying a drier view of the city on our bikes.
During the month of May, we are inviting you to “Spring into Venture Outdoors”. If you come kayaking with us, you will receive a code on the bottom of your receipt for $5.00 off a Venture Outdoors outing of your choice when you sign up online!
Also, make sure you stop down at the North Shore next weekend wearing Pirates gear to get your fun in on the water and $5.00 off your first hour of kayaking. tandem with a friend or enjoy some solo time in a solo, either way it’s guaranteed to be a blast.
We will be open at the North Shore for the remaining weekends in May, and starting Memorial Day weekend, we are opening seven days a week at both our North Park and North Shore locations.
Don’t forget to sign up for your Venture Outdoors membership or get a Kayak Pittsburgh Season Pass! We want to see you on the water as much as we can this summer, and our memberships and season passes are the most affordable ways to do so!
