Winter Members Day!

Don’t bother turning up the heat; meet us outside where the fire is warm and the flurries are falling! Join us on Sunday, February 15th for our 2015 Winter Members Day Celebration. We are staying a little closer to home and will be enjoying the flurries at North Park this year. As always there will be great outdoors activities to enjoy in the company of your fellow outdoor enthusiasts. If there is snow on the ground we will be snowshoeing and making snow-creatures.
What if there is no snow? No problem! There will be plenty of fantastic guided hiking opportunities. We will have easy walks for the whole family, as well as moderate hikes to get our hearts pumping. We’ll host an outdoor skills session of learning how to build a fire and after we’ve got the blazes going you can roast marshmallows and get creative with mountain pies.
Will there be grub? Along with s’mores and mountain pies, inside you can warm-up with tasty treats from our friends at OTB (veggie options will be available). Feel free to bring a simple side dish or dessert to share (finger food is best–there is no electrical hook-up for cooking). Also inside, we’ll feature our always popular family craft table with winter themed crafts and we’ll be playing some music. If you’re a musician and you’d like to share your talents, we’ll have a music area set up just for you! This annual member appreciation event is free of charge and open to all active Venture Outdoors members and 1 guest per member.
Bring a friend! The “bring a friend” idea went so well this summer, we are sticking with it and we encourage, you, our active VO members to bring your non-member family and friends. Show your guests what a great time can be had outside with Venture Outdoors! Registration is not required but strongly encouraged so we know to bring enough food. We look forward to seeing you there!
