Can I switch which program my child is in?

We will happily support any changes in a family’s summer schedule. Please reach out at least two weeks prior to start of your camp week. If there is space available in a camp that you would like to switch your child to, we can do so for a $25 administrative charge. Please contact Lisa@ventureoutdoors.org to make a change.

Will you offer aftercare after 4:00pm?

There will be no aftercare available this year.

What accommodations can you make for my child?

We encourage all parents to closely review each camp description, which outlines our Safety & Wellbeing Expectations and Camp Criteria to consider if a camp is a good fit for your child.

After registration, you (the parent) will be sent a Camper Wellbeing Paperwork Packet to complete for your child, where you can outline special accommodations and needs. We will do our best to provide accommodations providing it does not change the nature of the event activities. There is a minimum of two weeks notice needed for special accommodation considerations. Contact Lisa Hladio at Lisa@ventureoutdoors.org or 412-255-0564 if you would like to discuss further.”

Can I pick my child up early? What if they have to be late?

We may be able to accommodate, depending on the activities we have planned for the day. Please contact Lisa@ventureoutdoors.org to further discuss your needs.

What happens if I pick up my child late?

Parents should pick their child up from camp between 3:30 – 4:00pm. There will be a late pick up fee of $1.00 per minute per child beginning at 4:01pm.

Do you offer financial assistance?

Camperships may be available for those who need financial assistance. Please complete the application using this link – https://forms.gle/Exxkt3c7S1tdcnYW8

Note that an application does NOT guarantee a campership. If you have further questions, reach out to Lisa@ventureoutdoors.org or 412-255-0564.

What is your cellphone and electronics policy?

Cellphones
We do not allow campers to use cell phones during camp time. Campers will be instructed to keep their cell phone in their backpack during camp time. If a camper is still using their cell phone after a warning from a staff member, the staff member will hold onto the cell phone for the remainder of the day and return it to a parent during pick up time.

Electronics
We do not allow campers to use handheld electronics during camp time. Campers will be asked to not bring devices (iPads, laptops, Nintendo Switch, etc.) to camp. If they are brought to camp, campers will be instructed to keep their electronic devices in their backpack during camp time. If a camper is still using electronics after a warning from a staff member, the staff member will hold onto the device for the remainder of the day and return it to a parent during pick up time.

What happens if we have bad weather?

Camp is NOT typically canceled due to inclement weather. Inclement weather or water flow may affect which recreational activities your camper will participate during the week. We take weather and camper safety seriously, revising our activity schedule and seeking shelter when needed. All locations have a safety shelter for inclement weather. During periods of inclement weather, campers will participate in indoor activities, like teambuilding, crafts, games and more.

Your camper should come prepared with:
1. Lunch
2. Snacks
3. Water bottle
4. Sunscreen
5. Bug spray
6. Extra pair of clothes
7. Raincoat
8. Day backpack
