Paddle skill can be a barrier to exploring those miles so Venture Outdoors is pleased to offer kayak classes. Whether you are starting out, looking to build some technique, or know how to get back in after a capsize our ACA certified instructors are happy to help!
We offer beginner kayak classes, beginner Stand up paddleboard classes, intermediate kayak classes, and rescue classes (for getting back on board after a capsize.
Private lessons are available and customized to your needs. Whether you are looking to be a smoother paddler, explore our areas rivers and locks with confidence, or learn how to stand up paddle board or canoe, our team of instructors is ready to help.
The American Canoe Association (ACA) was founded in 1880 and is the nation’s premier national nonprofit organization that serves the paddling public. ACA providers offer educational programs, support stewardship initiatives, and competition opportunities to athletes of all abilities.

Free Adaptive opportunities in 2026 are funded by a grant made possible through funds granted through the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).
FHWA provides funds to states to develop and maintain
recreational trails and trail-related facilities for motorized and non-motorized recreational trail uses. The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) has been designated as the state agency responsible for administering this federal program in Pennsylvania.
