Are any scholarships available?

Scholarships may be available. Please contact Lo@ventureoutdoors.org to learn more.

What are the program times?

Students report to the program immediately after dismissal at the end of the school day. Pick up time is between 5:30 ā€“ 6:00pm.

What is the snack situation?

Students will be provided with a snack every day but are also welcome and encouraged to bring their own snacks to eat throughout the program time. (Remember, ECS is a nut-free campus.)

Will you provide morning care?

Not at this time.

Will you provide half day care?

Five select half day care programs will be included in your registration. These half day aftercare programs will have the same dismissal time as a regular day (between 5:30 – 6:00p). We will request a sign up from parents in advance so we know how many children will attend (we will need a minimum of 8 students to run half day care on these days). The dates include:

  • Friday, September 23, 2022
  • Friday, December 9, 2022
  • Friday, January 27, 2023
  • Friday, February 10, 2023
  • Friday, February 24, 2023

Can I sign my child up for just a few days a week?

No, enrollment is only for 5 days/week (but the child is not required to attend every day).

Do you offer drop-in care if Iā€™m not enrolled in the Venture Outdoors aftercare program?

No, your child must be enrolled in the program.

What sorts of activities will my child participate in?

Lots and lots of environmental, educational and recreational outdoor activities! Geocaching, hiking, snowshoeing, fishing skills, kayak skills, crafts, creek exploration, trail games, and more. Venture Outdoors believes in connecting youth to nature throughout all four seasons to build social emotional learning skills, improve overall mental and physical wellbeing, and have fun.

What time does this program end?

This aftercare program allows for pick up between 5:30 and 6:00pm. While we can usually accommodate an earlier pick up time, it must be communicated in advance. Arriving prior to 5:30pm can be disruptive and pulls a team member out of programming to provide access to the building (we are usually out hiking the trails in Frick Park). If there is an emergency or unexpected schedule change that was not pre-arranged and early pick up is needed on the same day, you can contact the program cell phone number.

Is there a late pick up fee?

The pick-up window will be from 5:30 ā€“ 6:00pm. You will be charged $1.00 per minute per child beginning at 6:01pm.

Is there a deposit?

There is a one-time $20 nonrefundable deposit during the registration process at check out.
