Applications are OPEN for the first cohort of Venture Outdoors Corps

Venture Outdoors Corps is a young adult beginner outdoor recreation cohort that meets for 8 weeks in the Spring/Summer to learn outdoors skills, make new friends, and connect with nature. Thanks to the generous funding from American Eagle’s Future Together grant we’ve kicked off the FIRST Venture Outdoors Corps cohort.

Who can be a Venture Outdoors Corps Member?

Young Adults (18-26 years old) from across Pittsburgh from any background are welcome to apply. No experience is needed, just an interest in learning more about outdoor recreation and trying new things!

The program is offered free of charge and transportation will be provided, if needed. Our goal is to reduce any and all barriers that limit access to outdoor recreation.

What to expect?

This cohort will last 8 weeks from April 5th- May 28th. Each Wednesday the cohort will meet for two hours to learn about different types of outdoor recreation and try them firsthand. The program includes high ropes/ziplining, rock climbing, fishing, hiking, biking, yoga, kayaking, and camping! After this program every participant will have the experience and knowledge to continue recreating outdoors and to share what they have learned with their friends, families, and community members.
