Valerie (Hill) Beichner is the first woman to hold the Pennsylvania ACA State Director position
If Venture Outdoors becoming the first Pennsylvania Pro Paddle school wasn’t enough, our President & CEO Valerie (Hill) Beichner has been named Pennsylvania ACA State Director. Valerie will be the first woman in our state to hold this position, and we couldn’t be more excited for her!
The ACA State Director position is a volunteer opportunity created to allow individuals within their states to engage the community statewide in paddlesport issues related to advocacy, stewardship, education and more. Valerie will be reaching out to paddle clubs, outdoor retailers, community members and more in the coming months to build a coalition of folx who are interested in actively working toward building an equitable and inclusive paddlesport community across the Commonwealth.
“Venture Outdoors’ core mission is to remove barriers to outdoor experiences and that includes certification and training that lend to career development. Our goal in becoming an ACA Pro Paddle School is to further inclusion and belonging in paddlesport throughout Pennsylvania. I’m also honored to have been elected as Pennsylvania’s ACA State Director and will work through this volunteer position to advance equitable access to paddlesport through education, advocacy and stewardship.”
